OFFICERS chased a man on foot and arrested him after jewellery was stolen from a shop in Redditch.
The arrest was made yesterday (Sunday, October 11) in Alvechurch after concerned residents provided a description of a 'suspicious male' - who was allegedly looking in people's driveways and over fences.
A Redditch town centre PCSO noticed that this matched the description of a male allegedly linked to an earlier incident of shoplifting involving jewellery from the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.
After a foot chase, the PCSO and partnered colleague caught and detained the male.
Redditch police confirmed the man was then searched and had the "missing items of jewellery on his person".
They said on Facebook: "He was immediately arrested and the jewellery will soon go back to the rightful owners. A win for justice."
