REDDITCH teachers are now able to hop on Redditch's new e-scooters and ride for free this month.

Bird - the micromobility operator currently trailing the service is Redditch - is offering its Free Rides for Teachers program throughout the month of October.

Now, educators in the town can experience a clean, traffic-free, and socially distanced way to get around, whether they’re commuting to class or picking up supplies for online learning.

The offer has been made to help and thank teachers for their work during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rebecca Hahn, chief corporate social responsibility officer at Bird, said: “We’re all facing a 'new normal' this academic year, and at the centre are the teachers who’ve been given the enormous task of reimagining both online and in-classroom learning.

“We want to do our part to help by providing all teachers with free personal mobility so they can focus on what matters most: their passion for education.”

The new program offers teachers up to two free 30-minute rides per day and is valid from today until the end of October.

To sign up, people can email together@bird.co with your teacher ID or teaching credentials.
