LUXURY apartments built on the site of the former Esplanade pub are to go on sale this weekend.

The highly-anticipated complex, Clifftown Shore, at Western Esplanade is set for completion next autumn.

There will be a lavish restaurant, cocktail bar and terrace on the ground floor, as well as a modern gym and underground parking for residents, and a concierge for the full luxury experience.

Restaurateurs, Elysium Group, who also own Pavilion in Colchester, will be bringing their high-level dining experience to what is expected to be a stunning eatery.

They also plan to provide room service to the 51 apartments above so that residents can enjoy fine dining from their private terraces as the sun sets over the sea.

Clifftown Shore development director, James Struth, said: “We have all been working very hard on this development to deliver a truly inspirational building that can be enjoyed by everyone in Southend for many generations to come.

“The complex work is now complete, and despite Covid-19 we are on program for completion next autumn.”

The building will certainly be a rise from the ashes. CGI images reveal a stunning building which the town is ready to embrace after years of the derelict pub, which burnt down in December 2018, at the site.

The huge fire destroyed the building’s entire site which became an eyesore for residents. It was then subjected to further vandalism and arson attempts on several occasions.

Ron Woodley, deputy leader of Southend Council, said: “It shows what can be achieved and what a lovely position to live in.

“Southend is a lovely place to live.

“We have Queensway, Seaway, Roots Hall, Fossetts as well as Marine Plaza and the Esplanade all coming up. All of this is an opportunity for people to have somewhere decent to live.

“The town will be transformed in ten years’ time and I hope I will see it all come to fruition.

Echo:

“Thanks to our administration and previous administrations all these plans will come together to create a great place to live.”

Clifftown Shore and Home estate agents, based in Leigh, will be launching the apartments for sale this Saturday.
