A TRAIN driver was spat at and punched in the face by a group of three men.
The incident, which happened on Sunday evening, took place at Burnley Manchester Road Station on the York to Blackpool North service.
The men made off from the station after the British Transport Police were called.
A spokesman said: “Officers were called to a #York to #BlackpoolNorth service at #Burnley Manchester Road Station late last night after a report the train driver had been assaulted (spat at, and punched to the face and back of head). Three males made off from the scene. Enquiries ongoing.”
