Popular Redditch musician Colton Bryan died after being stabbed following a ‘robbery that went wrong’, a court has heard.

Adam Carpenter, aged 20, from Wharrington Hill, Redditch, appeared at a virtual court held at Birmingham Magistrates’ court today (Wednesday, July 22), charged with conspiring to rob Saxophone player Colton.

His appearance follows a fatal stabbing in Redditch, where 22-year-old Colton Bryan died at his home in Guinness Close on Wednesday night (July 15).

Carpenter is charged with conspiring to commit robbery with another person. In court, the incident was described as “a robbery that had gone wrong”.

Police previously confirmed Carpenter was arrested in Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday (July 18).

Another man in his 20s, also from Redditch, was arrested yesterday (Tuesday, July 21) on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Carpenter remains in police custody and will now appear at Worcester Crown Court next month for a trial.
