A MAN has been charged and another arrested as part of an ongoing murder investigation following a fatal stabbing in Redditch.

A 22-year-old, named locally and on social media as musician Colton Bryan, died at his home in Guinness Close on Wednesday night (July 15).

Adam Carpenter, aged 20, from Wharrington Hill, Redditch has been charged with conspiring to commit robbery and has been remanded into custody.

He was arrested in Weston-super-Mare at around 3am on Saturday (July 18) and brought to Kidderminster Police Station.

He is due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court tomorrow (July 22).

Another man in his 20s and from Redditch was arrested at around 12.30pm today (21 July) on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Last week, a witness told of her horror as she tried to save the victim after the attack. She said she "cradled" him before emergency services arrived at the scene.

After the stabbing, a West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition. Staff worked as a team to administer advanced life support on scene to the man.

“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Police have said While the investigation continues, there will be an increased presence of officers in the area. Anyone with any information or concerns can speak to an officer or call 101.
