HEARTBROKEN residents have paid tribute to a man ‘passionate about music’ who died following a stabbing in Redditch.

The victim, who was in his 20s, has been named locally and on social media as musician Colton Bryan.

He died at his home in Guinness Close at around 10pm last night (Wednesday, July 15).

One user posted on Facebook: “Just woke up to find out the awful news about Colton Bryan. I’m in absolute shock.

“One of the nicest guys around and unbelievable with the saxophone.

“Thoughts are with your family, rest in peace.”

Another user said: “Rest in peace Colton. You didn't deserve this.” They also shared an emoji of a saxophone.

Another user said: "You were an amazing person and musician, you made us all proud, a true inspiration."

A Twitter user said: “This is so sad… Colton was always so lovely to me. Kind heart and passionate about music.”

Detective Inspector Mark Walters said: “A man is now in police custody who has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

“The victim’s family are being supported by specially trained officers at what is understandably a very traumatic and upsetting time.”

Inspector Lee Page said: “I would like to thank the local community for their ongoing support and patience at this time as there will be a continued police presence at the victim’s property.

"Residents can also expect to see extra officers and high visibility patrols in the area over the next few days and I would encourage anyone with any concerns to please get in touch with their local Safer Neighbourhood Teams.

“I would ask that anyone with any information about the incident which happened last night around 10pm in Guinness Close, Redditch please call 101 quoting incident 706i of 15 July 2020.”
