A WOMAN has returned home from the Alexandra Hospital after a battle Covid-19 which lasted over two months.
59-year-old Ann Lynch, from the Bromsgrove area, left the Redditch hospital yesterday (Tuesday, June 30) after she was admitted to Ward 1 back in April.
She spent a total of 66 days in the hospital, which include days on a ventilator. She made a recovery and was deemed well enough to return home to her family.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust shared the emotional moment Ann left the Alex. Members of staff and nurses who supported Ann applauded her as she left the ward.
The ward staff called the coronavirus survivor a 'true inspiration' and congratulated her on the recovery.
People took to social media to share their praise for NHS staff and wish Ann the best for the future.
One user congratulated the Alex for being a "fantastic hospital" and called it a "credit to our town".
Another said: "Fantastic news. Well done to all nursing staff involved. Amazing work."
Another said: "Well done Ann and all the wonderful staff. Take care."
