FANS of Worcestershire-raised Rik Mayall, who portrayed Redditch's 'investigative journalist' Kevin Turvey, have been remembering the comedian on the sixth anniversary of his death.
The famous funnyman starred as the the self-styled Redditch reporter who lived with his mother in A Kick Up The Eighties and the mocumentary Kevin Turvey – The Man Behind The Green Door in 1982.
The comedian, aged 56, died six years ago today (June 9, 2014) and fans have taken to twitter to share career highlights and memories - from The Young Ones to Blackadder.

His portrayal of Redditch's own Kevin Turvey saw the reporter searching for scoops around the borough, taking him to the ring road, the water tower in Headless Cross and on the pitch at the Valley Stadium.

Mayall grew up in Droitwich and attended King’s School Worcester. He was given an honorary degree at Worcester University in November, 2007.
