Tributes are being paid to a popular man who has been named locally as the victim of a fatal paragliding accident today.
People have taken to Facebook today to post tributes to Wayne Seeley, a keen paraglider who lives in Eastington and was well known in Dursley as he attended Rednock School.
This follows the death of a paraglider who collided with a power cable in Eastington this afternoon.
Friends of Mr Seeley have changed their own Facebook cover photos to a paragliding picture he posted on his Facebook page on Monday, as a way of paying tribute to him.
Among those to pay tribute, one friend told us: "He was an amazing friend with a heart of gold. Would do anything for anyone. Also a very talented pilot and photographer as you can see by his photos (on Facebook).
"He was loved by many and will be sadly missed."
After the accident, a spokesman for Gloucestershire Police said: “Earlier today, around 1.20pm, emergency services were called to a report of a paraglider hitting power lines in Eastington, Stonehouse.
“The local man, aged in his 40s, was paragliding solo when he hit power lines over a nearby field.
“Sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin has been informed.”
