A 57-year-old man remains in a "critical condition" after an attack in Redditch this week.

Police responded to reports of an altercation between two men at a property in Lock Close at around 8pm on Tuesday, May 12.

Once officers arrived at the house they found a man with a head injury, who was later taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police have now confirmed that the victim is still in hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries and his family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Following the incident Inspector Lee Page said: “An investigation is underway and I can confirm that a man in his 20s from Redditch has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

"The victim has remained in hospital and at this time his injuries remain life threatening.

“I would like to reassure the local community that this is an isolated incident and that they can expect to see an increased police presence in and around Lock Close as we continue our enquiries and investigation of the scene.

“I would ask that anyone with any information please gets in touch with us by calling 101 and quoting incident number 0592s of 12 May 2020.”
