A NEW care home in Chester has completed the appointment of its seven-strong senior team to run the state-of-the-art facility.

Deewater Grange care home on Chester Road, Huntington, opened its doors to its first residents earlier this month.

Manager Sally Cooper has recruited an experienced leadership team that includes lifestyle coordinator Shawn Creswell, customer relations manager Donna Brown, head housekeeper Tracey Chrimes, maintenance manager Jordan Carrington, administrator Paige Mort and head chef Paul Strachan, who all live in the Chester area.

The new home, which will provide residential, dementia and nursing care, features 58 ensuite bedrooms, space for hobby and leisure activities, its own cinema, a hairdressing salon and café. It will host an official launch event on Thursday, March 26.

Sally said: “Deewater Grange is a state-of-the-art care home and, while every design detail has been considered to provide the highest standards of care, having the right people working in the home is crucial to the overall experience of residents.

“I know I am speaking on behalf of myself, Shawn, Tracey, Jordan, Paige, Donna and Paul when I say we are proud of the welcoming and friendly environment which is already taking shape here at Deewater Grange.”

Lifestyle coordinator Shawn, who previously worked in five-star resorts, said: “I am excited to be joining a forward-thinking, growing care provider and to be helping Sally to deliver person-centred care that supports every resident and their family members.”

Tracey, who is the head housekeeper, is looking forwarding to helping make a difference to the lives of the residents, as well as their family members.

She said: “I’m enjoying working within a person-centric care home environment, which is enabling me to build closer relationships with residents. Knowing I’ve made a difference to an individual’s day, whether that be a resident at Deewater Grange or a friend or family member, I am proud to add value.

"I believe my wealth of experience, particularly as head of hospitality in the care sector, will help me fulfil my role to an excellent standard.”

Customer relations manager Donna added: “It’s a privilege to be a part of the Deewater Grange story right from the beginning. Creating bonds with residents and their families already is incredibly rewarding and I’m looking forward to the journey ahead.”
