A HOMELESS man found dead at a high street bank has been named as the coroner tries to find his family.

The body of Phillip Robert Gilbert, who was 48 years old, was found at the Lloyds Bank in Shaftesbury High Street just before 9am on Thursday, February 20.

Police and paramedics rushed to the branch, but Mr Gilbert could not be saved. The bank was cordoned off while officers investigated.

Officers say they are not treating the death as suspicious and no investigation is needed.

However, PCs have been tasked by the coroner for Dorset to track down Mr Gilbert's next of kin.

Coroner’s officer Tracey Jeans said: “We are not treating the death as suspicious.

"However, we have not been able to locate his next of kin.
