A BANNED driver who was five times over the legal drink drive limit has been slammed behind bars.

Marek Olszewski was jailed for a total of six months and banned from the roads for 48 months after Worcestershire magistrates were told he had 176 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath after he was caught driving a Skoda Octavia on Windsor Road on January 13.

The 44-year-old, from The Mayfields, Redditch, pleaded guilty and also admitted driving without an appropriate licence or insurance.

He was also ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge and £135 costs.

He was given credit for pleading guilty but magistrates told him the offences were aggravated by the high level of alcohol and his record of previous offending.
