It is not known how the fire started but it is believed to have been small.
Hereford and Worcester Fire Service station commander Jon Laight praised the efforts of crews on Twitter saying they "did cracking work to minimise the damage and risk to those involved".
Just a couple of call outs so far today...a minor Hazmat incidnet in Bromsgrove in the early hours and a small bedroom fire in Redditch this afternoon. Both @HWFireBGrove & @HWFireRedditch crews did cracking work to minimise the damage & risk to those involved.
