A KIND-HEARTED cafe owner has treated elderly residents to a free Christmas meal with all the trimmings.

Jane O'Halloran, 55, runs Mrs O's cafe in Parr Street, Howley, and decided to give back to older members of the community.

Jane, who lives in Orford, said: "It's just something that we thought of early on.

"There's nothing in the area like this.

"I'd been doing some research about the area and there's a lot of elderly residents, so, I thought we'd do something for them.

"We had a meal for 16 people and we also invited the councillor around here, Peter Carey."

Mrs O's has only been open for 11 weeks but has already received positive feedback from residents.

Jane added: "This was a good way of welcoming the community.

"We're always looking for something to do."

Mrs O's is open six days a week and more information can be found by searching for the cafe on Facebook.
