UPDATE: Emergency workers have called the search off for the night.
CREWS were called to river search for man who is believed to have been in the water in Evesham.
Emergency services were called to an incident in Waterside, Evesham this morning.
Firefighters were called to the are at 6:48 and sent two fire engines and two boats. Police officers were also at the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “Emergency services are in attendance on Abbey Road, Evesham following concerns that a man had gone into the river Avon,”
“We received the call at 6.56am from a member of the public who stated they thought they had seen a man in the water.
“Emergency services including Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are working together with West Mercia Police to search the river and surrounding area.”
