POLICE are hunting thieves who stole a giant lizard.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after thieves broke into a house and snatched a pet iguana.

They broke in via a patio door during the incident which took place between 9.30pm on Sunday, November 10 and 7.50am on Monday, November 11.

The reptile was stolen from a house in Gabriel Walk, Andover.

A police spokesperson said: "If you have any information or have been offered an iguana for sale, please call us on 101, quoting 44190405088.

Officers are reminding residents to keep their home secure by locking windows and doors and not leave items of value on show.
