A DRUG driver from Redditch has been banned from the roads for three years after being caught at the wheel of a Peugeot on Coventry Highway.

Worcestershire magistrates found Henry Gardner guilty in his absence of driving with an excess of benzoylecgonine in his blood.

Gardner, aged 37, whose address was given as c/o Exhall Close, was also fined £180 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

He had previously denied the charge but admitted driving without appropriate insurance.

No separate penalty was imposed for the insurance offence but magistrates further fined Gardner £50 for failing to surrender to bail.

Also before Worcestershire magistrates.

Daniel Beck, aged 23, of Ashton Close, Redditch, was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £250, ordered to pay £135 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

Beck pleaded guilty to driving with an excess amount of a controlled drug in his blood.

Thomas Patrick, aged 33, from Hewell Road, Redditch, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

He was given a conditional discharge for six months, ordered to pay £135 costs and a £21 victim surcharge.

Ashleigh Raymond, aged 22, from Knowles Cross, Redditch, was fined £40 and ordered to pay £60 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

Raymond pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
