A PROLIFIC Jamaican sportsman will join two cricketing entrepreneurs from Bromsgrove and West Hagley in taking on the watch industry.

Jayden Levitt a Bromsgrove cricketer and Tim Hayden, a former West Hagley player, started their company Hagley West Watches in 2017.

Now, the duo have garnered the support from cricketer Chris Gayle, who has come into the company as a co-owner.

Chris has a keen focus on helping underprivileged communities gain access to the game of cricket and the company are committed to support grassroots organisations and charities across the globe.

Jayden Levitt said: “When we launched we had no advertising budget so we made a decision to reach out to cricketers in the hope they would support us in promoting Hagley West.

It all started with South African cricketer JP Duminy. He helped promote the brand and also got us in contact with other cricketers”

The company, which is aimed at delivering stylish watches without a premium price tag, has gone from strength to strength since it launched with an increase in turnover of 250% this year.

Tim Hayden said: “Chris has come into Hagley West as a co-owner and will have an active role, supporting with our up and coming ‘share sale’.

"We will be selling equity through a crowdfunding campaign that will be available to everyone.

"Cricket is obviously deep rooted in the Hagley West culture, so it’s only right that we give something back to the community that has served and supported us so well.

"We’ll be announcing very soon, our commitment to helping charities and foundations across the globe that develop and promote grass root cricket to underprivileged communities”

The crowdfunding campaign will be launched via crowdcube.com.
