MORE than a dozen travellers have turned up on Padgets Lane in Moons Moat.

Travellers arrived on a car park on the road yesterday Tuesday, October 22, according to residents and business owners.

Some said they have been threatening staff who work nearby and that employees had allegedly been told to to stay away.

Others have been quick on social media to urge people to avoid the area.

Police have been contacted over the issue, but the travellers have yet to move on.

Sergeant David Roberts said: “We attended an incident this morning (October 23) where it was reported some travellers had occupied a business’s car park.

"We have been in regular contact with the managers and staff and we continue to provide support while they peruse their legal process.

"We will help to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum as much as possible.”
