FA CUP LIVE: Heather St John's v Worcester City

Our live feed has now finished.

  • FA CUP REPORT: HEATHER 1 CITY 0
  • Kieron Clarke's moment of quality decided a tight tie and ended City's dream of a run in the FA Cup.
  • The Heather hitman notched his sixth of the season 10 minutes into the second half, scampering on to a quick header back into Worcester's half down the left of the area before finishing with the outside of his boot low across keeper Ted Cann from a tight angle.
  • It was a sucker punch for City who had spurned good openings, particularly for debutant defender Joe Hawkins and captain Aaron Birch from long Luke English throws during the first 45.
  • Jordan Harrison also flashed fractionally wide of the far post and strike partner Demetri Brown lashed at air in front of goal, allowing Sufyan Zia to get across and save the day before the second attempt.
  • Heather had spent most of the first half on the back foot but could have led at the interval had Kyle Burke connected with Umar Zaman's excellent ball to the back stick.
  • The Saints improved and gained territory after the interval, visibly growing in stature after landing what proved to be the killer blow.
  • Despite plenty of City pressure late on there was little to worry the robust hosts.
  • Heather: Parsons 5.5, Morris 7, Lloyd 6, Kyle Burke 7, Zia 7 (Evans, 11, 7.5), Byrne 7, Doyle 7, ZAMAN 8* (Bahrey, 83), Farquharson 6, Clarke 7, Fellows 6.5 (Corry, 67, 6.5).
