RESIDENTS are being urged to remain vigilant after report of a man claiming to be an ex–prisoner was spotted selling items door to door.
Witness reports seeing him also looking into cars and house windows while in the Webheath area on August 2.
Police officers responded and investigated the person involved.
A spokesman said: "If you have information that you believe may be in connection to this incident, please contact the police on 101, quoting the incident number 0497s 020819.
"Please remain vigilant around your area and report suspicious persons, vehicles or activity to the police."
They added: "Information can also be given anonymously to the Independent Charity, Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111 or by visiting their website crimestoppers-uk.org."
