A REDDITCH man helped himself to more than £1,500 during a visit to Burger King in the town.

Craig Nichols from Batchley Road has been ordered by Redditch magistrates to complete 200 hours unpaid work for taking the cash from the restaurant in the Kingfisher Centre.

The 31-year-old, who admitted the theft, was also ordered to pay £620 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Also at Redditch Magistrates Court, Ricky Martin Cooke was fined £100 and ordered to attend rehabilitation activity after he pleaded guilty to using the name Janet Johnson to fraudulently obtain goods.

Cooke, aged 54, of Evesham Road, Redditch, was also ordered to pay £150 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Tahir Ali was jailed for 24 weeks after he admitted driving an Audi A3 while disqualified and without insurance, he was also ordered to pay £400 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

The 36-year-old from Marsden Road, Redditch, was also disqualified from driving for 39 months after he pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath to police.

Elizabeth Loveland, from Sheldon Grove in Birmingham, was banned from driving for 32 months after she admitted driving on Evesham Road, Astwood Bank, with 130 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The 51-year-old was further given a jail term of 12 weeks suspended for 12 months, ordered to pay £500 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
