FOLLOWING the launch of the Royal Enfield Showcase, visitors can share their memories of the factory and the machines in the Redditch heyday.

This Saturday, from 11am until 1pm memories of people who worked in the factory or even spent their first pay packet on a 350cc bullet, will be recorded.

Redditch Borough Councillor Mike Rouse, whose portfolio covers leisure and tourism, said: “The showcase has really stirred up a lot of memories and we want capture these as part of our Royal Enfield celebration and share them on social media for others to enjoy.

“So please turn up – we’d love to hear from you.”

The showcase, part, present and future, will run until July 13 at the vacant shop opposite Clintons, and every Saturday a new special event will take place.

Domonique Lippett, Kingfisher marketing manager, said: “We are extremely proud to be hosting The Royal Enfield Showcase which is a wonderful tribute to the iconic brand which originated here in Redditch.

“We hope guests to the Kingfisher will visit the showcase to view this fascinating display of bikes and feel proud as a community that Redditch was where it all began."
