A PROLIFIC Bromsgrove shoplifter was caught with meat down his trousers as he tried to leave the Co-op.
Anthony Richardson was detained as he tried to leave the store in the town on April 21 with food items worth £40.
Redditch magistrates were told the 34-year-old, of no fixed address, also faced three other charges from late April and early May which involved theft of items including Jack Daniels, food and razors.
Richardson, who appeared via a video link from jail where he is serving a 22 week sentence for previous offences, admitted the charges and was jailed for a further two weeks to run concurrently for each offence.
The latest term will run consecutively to his current sentence.
He was also ordered to pay a total of £102 compensation, including a sum for the meat which was not fit to be resold.
Magistrates were told Richardson has 66 similar offences on his record and his offending was linked to problems with heroin abuse.
