MORE than fifty John Masefield High School students are heading for Normandy this week.
The aim of the trip is for them “to use their French speaking skills in context and develop a better understanding of French culture”.
And an extra bonus is that fact that all members of the party will be wearing bright new school t-shirts for the visit, handed out just before the coaches arrived
Students will be staying in a Château where native French speakers serve typical French meals and encourage students to repeat and use the necessary vocabulary.
School business manager, Wendy Bradbeer said: “During their time at the chateau they will take part in a whole host of exciting activities such as kayaking, raft building, archery, bread making and ball games.
“They will visit Saint Malo, and they also hope to see the Bayeux Tapestry.”
