A NEW opticians will be opening its doors in Alcester, creating four full time jobs for local people.

Specsavers is set to open towards the end of June on the former Post Office site at 36 High Street.

The new store will act as a sister store to Specsavers in Stratford-upon-Avon run by the same directors, Paul Griffiths, Jonathan Belcher and Andrew Eaves, who have more than 70 years’ optical experience between them.

Day-to-day the store will be managed by Andrew Davies, another familiar face to Specsavers, having worked at the Stratford store for the last 20 years.

"We’re really excited to be opening the new store in Alcester," said Paul.

"Our plan is to bring the same level of dedicated clinical eye care and support that we offer in Stratford to the local Alcester community.

"As part of this opening we’re keen to recruit a local team to join us with our venture and are looking for customer service focused individuals to apply."

The store, which will be open six days a week, will have an official opening ceremony together with a celebratory party day but nothing has been planned in detail yet.
