Redditch MP to host May jobs fair in Redditch Town Centre

RACHEL Maclean, MP for Redditch, will be hosting a jobs fair event in Redditch Town Centre later this month.

The event will see more than 20 businesses and training organisations on hand in the Kingfisher Centre to offer advice on a career with them.

Rachel said: “I know that these events have proved to be extremely successful and fruitful for exhibitors in the past and, although unemployment levels nationally and locally are currently at a historical low, I still believe these events have a very useful place in our town.

"I see it as one of my key responsibilities to help local people secure employment, as well as to help businesses and organisations secure the staff they need.

“People may be in short-term positions and always on the look-out for another job, while others may just fancy seeing what is available."

She added: “Because businesses are expanding, there are plenty of employment opportunities out there, and the idea of the jobs fair is to bring as many of them as possible under one roof, making it easier for job hunters to look and compare what's on offer.”

The jobs fair will give organisations the chance to market job opportunities they may have, either now or envisaged in the future.

There will also be representation from training and apprenticeship organisations, as well as Jobcentre Plus, there on the day.

The jobs fair will take place in Milward Square in the Kingfisher Centre (by The Range) on Friday, May 17 from 10am to 3pm.

A full list of organisations taking part is to be released next week.
