RENOWN Redditch DJ Damian Sier has created a nightclub which caters especially for people with learning difficulties.

Based at the Steps Bar in Evesham Road, Vybes meets once a month on a Monday evening from 7pm until 10pm.

Damien came up with the idea based on his own experiences and said: "People should be able to enjoy themselves without being intimidated.

"I've been bullied myself in the past and it's not a very pleasant experience.

"I want people to come along and enjoy themselves in a safe environment."

Damien, who is originally from Sedgley, has already been running a similar Vybes nightclub in Wolverhampton for the past year which has proved very successful and he believes the same formula will work in Redditch.

He added: "We had around 50 people turn up to our launch party. I usually play house and garage music, but on these occasions, I play a bit of everything."

The next Vybes nightclub takes place on Monday, May 20 with others planned throughout the year.

Damian said: "Everyone with learning disabilities is welcome, if they want to bring someone with them, that's fine.

"I would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy themselves. But please bring some ID.

"If anyone is a bit apprehensive, then they can contact me on 01527 317317."
