A FORMER reverend from Redditch will taking a spectacular leap of faith.

Rev Jo Musson, former assistant curate at The Bridge Church in Headless Cross, will be doing a wing walk to raise cash for charity.

She will fly on the top wing of a 1940’s Boeing Stearman Biplane as it soars across the fields around Cirencester at a speed of up to 120mph for around 10 minutes.

She admitted it will be the "most terrifying" thing she has attempted in her life.

"I won't be going for any dazzling sequences of acrobatic manoeuvres, or loop the loops, my only aim will be to cling on for dear life," she said.

"I’m told the force of the wind is considerable, and tight clothing and glued-down hair are a must.

"There will be no means of verbal communication between me and the pilot, just hand signals. If I give the thumbs up it means I’m OK, two thumbs down means I’m not happy, land quickly."

She is raising money for charity Bloodwise, which works to change the lives of people living with blood cancer, and Claines Church in Worcester where she is now based.

The Rev Musson added: " Please support me. Please encourage me. Please pray for me. Please join me."

The wing walk is on May 15.
