A WOMAN has been jailed for stealing vacuums from B&M stores in Redditch and Kidderminster.
Clare Kopusto, of Church Street in Alcester, admitted stealing five vacuums worth a total of £369.95 between March 13 and April 2 this year.
On March 13, Kopusto, aged 36, stole a Hoover vacuum worth £69.99 from B&M at Redditch's Kingfisher Centre.
She then stole a Hoover Freedom vacuum and a Goodmans vacuum to the value of £119.98 on March 30, and another Hoover Freedom vacuum worth £89.99 from the same store on April 2.
On April 1, Kopusto stole another Hoover vacuum to the value of £89.99 from B&M in Kidderminster.
At Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday (April 4), Kopusto was jailed for 16 weeks and ordered to pay compensation totalling £279.96 plus a victim surcharge of £115.
Magistrates said the offence was made more serious by the defendant's record of previous offending.
In a separate case on Thursday, Martin Masters, of no fixed address, admitted damaging a cordless phone and custody cell in Kidderminster.
Masters, aged 32, pleaded guilty to causing the damage on April 3 this year.
He also admitted two assaults on Jade Cole in Redditch on March 28 and April 2.
He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison for the two assaults.
A restraining order was made, prohibiting him from contacting Ms Cole, and he was ordered to pay compensation of £200.
