MEMBERS of The Green Party will be welcoming their deputy leader to Redditch this weekend, for a chance to show her what matters to voters here.
Amelia Womack, the youngest person in a leadership position of any UK political party, will be visiting Redditch on Saturday, March 9.
A party spokesman said: "Far from just working on environmental issues, the Green Party are dedicated to social justice issues.
"In particular, Amelia has long campaigned for the UK to improve its record on domestic abuse and violence against women.
"Amelia will have the chance to meet voters in Redditch and discover more about the concerns, campaigns and community projects happening in Redditch."
They added: "She plans to visit Rees Cafe in the town centre to meet staff and volunteers to find out about their inspiring work with care-leavers. Also Amelia will discuss food, farming and the economy when she visits local farm shop Rough Hill Rare Breeds."
Interested residents are welcome to a public meeting.
Amelia will be speaking at a main event, open to the public, from 3pm until 5pm at Crabbs Cross Methodist Church, on Crabbs Cross Lane.
Claire Davies, local Green Party campaigner, has also arranged for a community litter pick to start at 2pm from the Methodist Church on the same day.
Equipment is provided, and there will be refreshments in the church after the litter-pick.
Anyone interested in knowing more about the Green Party can stay for the event afterwards.
