IN her bid to get Redditch to benefit as much as possible from Birmingham 2022, Rachel Maclean, MP for Redditch County, has invited the chief executive of the organising committee to Redditch.
Ian Reid will be meeting with Rachel and local council representatives at the Abbey Stadium later this week to discuss preparations for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022.
At the meeting, discussions will be held on how Redditch can benefit as much as possible from the games and how the wider West Midlands region will receive a boost from the global sporting event.
The MP said: “Ever since it was revealed Birmingham will be hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2022 I’ve been determined to make sure Redditch benefits as much as possible.
“I’m looking forward to bringing Ian Reid to Redditch to meet with me and local council representatives to discuss how our town can get involved in this global sporting event.
“We must ensure the wider West Midlands region reaps the benefits of the Commonwealth Games.”
