RESIDENTS in Batchley are being warned they face three weeks of disruption as work begins today to create 22 new car parking spaces.

The work, on Foxlydiate Crescent, will include the removal of the current landscaped area, including the chopping down of one cherry tree, to make way for 22 new parking spaces.

A Redditch Council spokesman said that residents were consulted on the proposals in January with the majority in favour.

They said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time."
