PATIENTS undergoing eye procedures at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch are going to benefit from faster, more efficient treatment thanks to a new piece of equipment, funded by the League of Friends.
Patients suffering ophthalmic conditions in Worcestershire are benefitting from a state of the art imaging technology allowing surgeons to pinpoint problems quicker and more accurately.
The £26,000 piece of equipment calculates a 3D image of the eye to diagnose conditions more accurately and can be used to judge how a patient is responding to treatment.
Consultant ophthalmologist, Geraint Williams, said: “We are so grateful to the League of Friends for their generous donation.
"We continually look to improve our services and this technology enables to do this as we can use it to improve patient care through our ongoing research."
