ALVECHURCH boss Ian Long admitted his side needs to find more quality in front of goal after obtaining a slender 1-0 win over strugglers Halesowen Town in the Evo Stik Southern League Central Premier Division.
Rahis Nabi's goal on the stroke of half time proved sufficient to seal the points in this local derby and Long said: "I would have settled for that before the game.
"We created some really good situations but the final ball was poor and it's something we need to work on in training.
"The decisions were right but we didn't execute them properly.
"Thankfully, we're keeping clean sheets. We've always prided ourselves on having a mean defence which is vital as we're not exactly free scoring at the moment.
"The only problem is that I have to keep paying out clean sheet bonuses."
Rahis's goal was a real cracker, a free kick bent around Halesowen's defensive wall.
"I thought Halesowen had improved from our first meeting, which we dominated.
"But there was little structure to their play as they tried to lump everything into the box.
"Lee Hughes did have a late effort which finished up well wide but apart from that, they didn't threaten and it didn't help when they had Callan Mendez Jones sent off in the second half for two bookable offences".
Church travel to St Neots Town this Saturday and then host Stratford Town in a local derby on Tuesday.
