A GORNAL man stole a bread making machine from Aldi, a court has heard.

Steven Harris, aged 40, of Oakland Drive, Gornal Wood, pleaded guilty to stealing a bread making machine worth £60 from Aldi. He received a three week sentence, suspended for 12 months and is required to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. He also pleaded guilty to dishonestly selling jewellery to the Money Shop without the owner's consent, for which he received a 12 month suspended sentence.

The following cases were also heard at Dudley Magistrate's Court on December 6 and 7.

Ian Hollingworth, aged 33, of Franchise Street, Darlaston, pleaded guilty to three counts of assaulting Laura Robinson by beating her in Oldbury in August and September. He was jailed for 24 weeks and has been banned from contacting Laura Robinson by direct and indirect means. He also pleaded guilty to taking a Citroen DS 3 MW12 UPV without the owner's consent and causing damage to it costing less than £5,000 and for driving it without a license or insurance. He was ordered to pay compensation and costs totalling £1,815 and has been disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Adam Smith, aged 30, of St Georges Road, Stourbridge, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breathalyser specimen when asked by police on Hawnes Lane, Halesowen. He also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis. Smith received a community order to complete 150 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months and he has also been disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was ordered to pay costs totalling £220.

Graham Wheatcroft, aged 62, of Morlich Rise, Brierley Hill, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breathalyser specimen when asked by police when driving in Oldbury on November 8. He was ordered to pay fines and compensation totalling £418 and is disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Stephen Barley, aged 45, of New Farm Road, Stourbridge, indicated a guilty plea to dishonestly causing to be wasted or diverting £2027.12 worth of electricity and possessing cannabis. Barley was ordered to pay compensation and fines of £250 and is required to undertake community order activities for ten days.

Leanne Evitts, aged 32, of Nimmings Lane, Halesowen, pleaded guilty to stealing £251.50 worth of jewellery and cosmetics from Claires Accessories. She received a custodial sentence of six months, suspended for six months and was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Matthew Walker, aged 36, of Byron Street, West Bromwich, pleaded guilty to stealing three gift sets worth £55.00 from Sainsburys in Blackheath. He was ordered to pay £285 in fines and costs.

Deanna Smith, aged 49, of The Ridgeway, Sedgley, pleaded guilty to damaging a pair of spectacles belonging to John O Kane and assaulting him. She also pleaded guilty to assaulting Steven Gill and causing £80 worth of damage to a police cell in Oldbury. She received a conditional discharge for 12 months and was ordered to pay £400 in compensation.

Phillip Clarke, aged 45, of Newhampton Road West, Wolverhampton, pleaded guilty to assaulting PC Fitzgerald in the execution of his duty. He was ordered to pay fines, costs and compensation totalling £480.
