WOOTTON Wawen Primary School has received a grant through Warwickshire County Council as part of an initiative to tackle congestion around schools in the Stratford area.

The school is among 33 to pick up grants from the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Department for Transport to tackle congestion outside school gates.

These grants will enable the school to implement a School Travel Plan in an attempt to reduce congestion by encouraging pupils to walk, cycle or use public transport to get to school.

The grant can go towards a number of capital projects within the school grounds, including cycle storage, pedestrian waiting areas, new paths, improved lighting, bus turning circles, guardrails and barriers to improve access.
