TAKEN directly from the book of horror cliches, The Breed features killer dogs on a deserted island and ticks all the boxes along the way.

During a holiday, five kids are rudely interrupted by a bunch of hungry hounds which spoil their fun by attacking them.

They then have to find a way to escape the murderous mutts before it's too late.

This film would be scary if it wasn't for the fact that the carnivorous canines all look so cute and well behaved.

Added to that, the plot is so flimsy that you just don't care if the dogs eat the holidaymakers alive.

In fact, you actually find yourself rooting for the aggravated animals just to get rid of the awful over-acting of one of the stars, Michelle Rodriguez.

Each actor had almost a week of dog training before filming began in order to work on set.

If only the writers had spent as long on the script.
