A NEW nail salon has marked its opening in Alcester by raising more than £200 to support people with dementia.

Crowds gathered as High Bailiff of Alcester Court Lee, Steven Brown, officially opened Nail Sanctuary on the High Street on Saturday, September 1.

To celebrate its opening, the salon has launched a raffle which has raised more than £200 for Alcester Cafe - a drop-in cafe which is held twice weekly to help support people with dementia.

The raffle is running all this week with the eventual winner taking home a hamper with £100 worth of nail products and treatments.

Director Eileen Clifford, who has over seven years experience in the area, said: “It was a memorable afternoon with lots of fun, laughter and fizz.

"We are overwhelmed with the wonderful cards, gifts and support we have received since we opened.”

Nail Sanctuary has three stations to provide nail services, including treatments, enhancements, and also spray tanning - a first for Alcester.
