IT was a case of hair today gone tomorrow for two brave sisters, who shaved their heads to help raise thousands of pounds for charities close to their hearts.

Lisa Osborne, 39, and sister Harriet Watts, 31, held their fundraiser at The Bulls Head in Inkberrow on July 1, in support of Lisa’s 15-year-old son Billy.

Billy was diagnosed with arthritis at the age of nine and spent much of his early diagnosis at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, before being introduced to a ‘breakaway’ weekend group.

Sessions were taken over by Arthritis Care and Arthritis Research UK, helping to provide Billy – and countless other children with arthritis – with weekend breaks and invaluable support.

Lisa said: "I'm over the moon with the money we have raised so far.

“Although emotions ran high on the day and the odd sensation a shaved head brings, I only have to look at my son and the friends he's made on the residential weekends, and it makes it all worthwhile knowing that the money raised will go towards another weekend for them.”

Hairdressers Robyn Buxton and Rebecca Burford carried out the hair cut.

The duo also raised money through a coffee morning at the pub in May.
