REDDITCH drivers are being warned of permanent speed checks along the M5 between junctions 6 and 4a.
Variable speed limits may be in place and the speed checks will be a permanent feature on the stretch motorway.
The announcement follows a series of crashes last week which saw motorway lanes closed along this stretch twice within 24 hours.
However, a spokesman for the Safer Roads Partnership in Warwickshire and West Mercia said the speed checks were not related to crashes but were a way to ensure a smooth flow of traffic along what is now a 'smart motorway'.
Vicki Bristow, from the Safer Roads Partnership for West Mercia Police said: "Speed enforcement is in place on this particular section of the M5 to ensure traffic is moving smoothly through our area and region."
