YOUNGSTERS from Batchley First School Choir helped spread some Christmas cheer at a care home in Batchley.

The idea came when Lisa Dell, a Batchley mum who works at St David’s Residential Care Home, contacted music teacher Sarah Wykes and invited the group to sing.

Lisa, an ex Batchley pupil herself, remembers the days of going to sing there with the choir.

Ms Wykes said: “I was delighted when Lisa approached me with this lovely idea. There is so much value in working between the generations.

"Lisa and the community at St David’s made us incredibly welcome. The children were so excited to have such an appreciative audience.”

Manager of the care home Liz Griffiths thanked the youngsters.

“It was a joy and pleasure to have their company,” she said.
