REDDITCH Rotary recently welcomed West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) John Campion, to their club meeting.
The commissioner spoke about his role, and is his plans to hold West Mercia Police to account to ensure an efficient and effective police service, equipping officers with modern technology and ensuring the budget of just over £200milion is carefully managed.
Mr Campion said: “An important part of my role is engaging with communities, not only to understand their wants and needs in order to deliver them, but to reassure them that the police is working efficiently and effectively to deliver the service they deserve.”
A spokesman from the club said members were reassured to hear that West Mercia area enjoys a relatively low crime level and that the police are aiming to keep this as low as possible.
He said it was encouraging to hear about the commissioner’s plans to improve the efficiency of the force, and hopefully the safety of the public.
