HUNDREDS of tonnes of woodchips were burning throughout the night during a deep seated fire in Hopwood.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from across Worcestershire were alerted to the blaze in Lea End Lane which involved about 300 tonnes of woodchips yesterday evening (Thursday, September 14).
Crews from Redditch, Evesham, Droitwich and Kidderminster fire stations helped to tackle the flames, which were continuing to burn into the early hours of this morning.
The Redditch carried out a re-inspection of the site at around midnight and found the wood chip pile was continuing to burn.
