RESIDENTS in and around Redditch are being invited to a children's party at Arrow Valley Lake to raise vital cash for charity.

The party, on Saturday, July 15 from noon, is raising money for Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation (CCSHF) which was started by Rob and Maggie Underwood after not one but two tragic deaths in the family.

The pair vowed to make sure every child in Redditch has access to vital life-saving equipment by making sure all schools, businesses, and community centres, have access to a defibrillator.

A spokesman said: "The event will be for all the family, but aimed mainly at the kids. There will be no entrance fee, and things to pay for on top."

Activities on the day include entertainment from Dave's Roadshow, bouncy castles, facepainting, glitter tattoos, fair rides, a dog/pet stall, a rodeo bull, raffles, and a number of hot and cold drinks and refreshments.

Members of the police, fire crews, and the Midland Freewheelers, a voluntary organisation set-up to provide an out-of-hours and emergency rider service to NHS hospitals, will be there.

There will also be defibrillator and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) demonstrations.

The couple lost their daughter Charlotte in 2010 aged just 16 to Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.

After that they set up a local group to raise money for defibrillators which have been installed in schools, fire stations, businesses, and community centres around the county.

Tragically, they lost son Craig, 17, in December 2013, almost three years to the day they lost their daughter, also to a heart related condition, Marfan Syndrome.
