HUNDREDS of people flocked to Alcester at the weekend for the 16th annual Winter Folk Festival.

The event, which took place at the Holly Bush pub, the town hall, Church House and Alcester Union Club, featured a number of intimate performances from talented artists.

Some of the acts to grace the various stages through the town included Sharpe as Razors, Jamie McCoan, Moses and the Ref, and Speake and Lowe.

The weekend also offered storytelling, workshops, and the chance to get involved with various folk clubs.

Organiser Marje Stanley said: "It was absolutely fantastic. Everyone enjoyed themselves and I have received some wonderful comments from people who came along.

"As well as the official singing, there was also a lot of impromptu singing from the audience, which was great fun, and lovely to hear."
