PEOPLE in Alcester and the surrounding district are being urged to make Christmas special for local rescue dogs.
Stratford-on-Avon District Council dog warden, Lisa Parkes is asking residents fill a shoebox with dog food, toys, treats, balls and collars and then take it to the council offices in Church Street in Stratford-on-Avon.
She organised the shoebox appeal to help dogs who find themselves in rescue centres over the festive period.
Lisa said: "Please find it in your hearts to support our extra-special appeal. Spread a little magic for our four-legged friends this Christmas time.”
The shoeboxes will then be distributed to local rescue centres in time for Christmas.
Donations will be accepted until Monday, December 15.
