HUNDREDS of people turned out to support Alcester’s Christmas light switch on held on Sunday, November 30.
Members of Alcester Court Leet held a procession throughout the town and Alcester Silver Band provided seasonal carols for people to sing along to.
The festivities ended outside St Nicholas’ Church where the Rotary Clubs of Alcester gave out cheques to more than a dozen good causes, including Alcester Scouts and Guides.
As part of the event, the Rotary Clubs of Alcester held their Tree of Light ceremony as a way to remember lost loved ones.
The custom, which has been held for several years, sees members of the community donate money to sponsor a light and celebrate the life of a lost loved one.
All profits made through the Tree of Light event will be donated to charity.
